How to Make Black Rice

Simple Method

  1. Rinse black rice 2 to 3 times until the water is clearer.
  2. Soak for 30 minutes to help soften the grains.
  3. Cook 1 cup black rice with 2 to 2.5 cups water until tender.
  4. Rest covered for 10 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve with vegetables, dal, curry, salad bowls or light seasoning.

Helpful Tips

  • Black rice naturally has a deep colour, so use a non-staining bowl if preferred.
